Norman A. Tucker

Memorial services for Norman A. Tucker, 83, of Leland will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He passed away peacefully at Delta Health-The Medical Center on Monday, February 17, 2025. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.

Norman was born on August 18, 1941, in Greenville, MS to Delma and Virgie (Etheridge) Tucker. Norman lived his entire life in Greenville.  He graduated from Greenville High School in 1959.  After graduation, he worked at Greenville Mill, then later worked at Bostic Brothers Company. He then started his own delivery service, making medical deliveries for several local pharmacies.  He later began working for Interstate Insurance Company. He worked for this company through many name changes, Gulf Life, and finally American General until he retired.

Norman was an avid outdoorsman, loving to fish and hunt anytime he could make the time.  The only thing he loved more was his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Delma and Virgie Tucker; brothers, Billy Tucker, Ted Tucker, and Robert Allan Tucker; sisters, Bobbie Jean Tucker May (Roy) and Jackie Tucker Criswell and children, Cynthia Ann Walker and Kimberly Sewell Boles.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Sewell Tucker of Greenville; sister, Grace Tucker Oswalt of Greenville; children, Jack Sewell (Leigh Gray), Lelia Beth Sewell Gilder (Timothy), Chad Sewell (Christy), Joshua Paul Sewell and Jason D. Sewell; sister-in-law, Mary Ruth Tucker; brother-in-law, Bernard Criswell; and grandchildren, Jessica Walker Hagen, Vanessa Gail Davis, Stephanie Fox (David), Christian J. (CJ) Gilder, Timothy Boone Gilder, and Skylar Brook Sewell.
