Lynn Ross Talbert Johnson

Funeral services for Lynn Ross Talbert Johnson, 90, of Greenville will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 12 at First Baptist Church Chapel, Greenville. She died Tuesday, November 8 at Washington Care Center. Burial will be in Indianola City Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.

Lynn was born to Mr. and Mrs. Orman Ross, but lost her father before she was a year old, leaving her and five siblings. Her mother Estelle McGaugh Ross married Thomas Turner of Carrollton where she and her siblings spent most of their young lives; however, the family moved to Indianola from where Lynn graduated.

Lynn was an active member of First Baptist Church. Because of her warm and loving heart, she spent years teaching the “special needs” children until her poor health caused her to have to retire. However, she left “her” children in the loving care of Gail and Robert Andrews. Some of those “specials” are honorary pallbearers that will be sitting behind her nephews who will be active pallbearers.

She was preceded in death by her father Orman Ross; her parents; three sons, Barry Talbert, Neill Talbert and Ross Talbert; two husbands, Tilford Talbert and Franklin Johnson; her siblings, Orman Ross, Vivian Ross Shute, Dell Ross Pyron, Josephine Ross Mosley and Leona Ross Brownlow.

She leaves behind, one son, Terry Talbert of Boise, Idaho; step-daughters, Jo Lyn Hindeland of Troy, MI, and Janice Murphy (Jim) of Batesville, MS; step-son, Ed Johnson (Teresa) of Fayetteville, TN; a sister, Hazel Turner Watson Penn of Carrollton, MS; a brother, Thomas Turner of Greenville; 3 grandchildren, Dr. Heather Talbert Morgan (Jackson) of Tennessee, Ashley Talbert (Emily) of Idaho, Zayne Talbert of Idaho; 5 step-grandchildren, Tom Garrett of Mississippi, Mark Hindelang of California, Leigh Ann Hindelang Knaus (Jeff) of Michigan, Joey Johnson (Sara) of Tennessee and Jacob Johnson (Derica) of Tennessee; 1 great grandchild, Bryson Talbert of Idaho; and 3 step-great grandchildren, Brantley Johnson of Tennessee, Madeline Johnson of Tennessee and Will Knaus of Michigan.

There will be a visitation one hour prior to services in the chapel.
