Funeral services for David Gene Hill , 73, of Greenville will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 16 at First Assembly of God. He died at his home on January 12, 2017. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
A native of Greenville, David was the son of Arthur R. Hill and Lottie Belle Whitehead, who pre-deceased him. He was also pre deceased by three brothers, Larry Hill, Ken Hill, and Charles Hill. He received his education at Glen Allen Schools and was the owner and operator of Dave’s Trailer Services over 30 years.
He was a faithful member of First Assembly Church for many years, during which he served as deacon and usher and a member of the Church and Grounds Committee.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Mavis Oswalt Hill, three daughters: Teresa Lynn Menhel (Bill) of Ocean Springs, MS; Sandra Denise Parham (Patrick) of Batesville, MS; and Connie Jeaneane McIntire (Robert) of Grenada, MS. Survivors also include his brothers, Dan Hill of Greenville, and four sisters, Betty Ponder of Starkville, Sandra Herron of Pearl, Pat Sinclair of Pearl River, LA , Joyce Shields of Ridgeland. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great grandson: Brittany Marie Menhel Nettles (Bret) of Brandon, MS; Breanna Lynn Menhel of Jackson, MS; Jessica Elizabeth Parham, Sam David Parham, and Kattie Bishop Parham, of Batesville, MS; and Tiffanie Brooke McIntyre, Austin Tyler McIntire of Grenada, MS. And great grandson John Ezra Nettles of Brandon, MS. He is also survived by and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Pastors Steve Burton of First Assembly Church and Bret Nettles of River of Life Assembly of God Church of Brandon will officiate. Memorials may be made to First Assembly of God Beautification Fund.
