Graveside services for Julia Irene Kelley, 100, of Greenville will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 30 at Leland-Stoneville Cemetery. She died Wednesday, September 27 at Washington Care Center. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mrs. Kelley was born in Philadelphia, MS on May 27, 1917 the daughter of Champion Kellis Bouchillon and Mary Alma Beckham Bouchillon. She married Frank M. Kelley in 1939 and they moved to Hollandale in the mid 1940’s. They later moved to Leland where he was engaged in farming. She was a homemaker and also worked part-time at Western Auto Store in Leland for 9 years. After retiring they moved to Greenville in 1984. She was a member of South Main Church of Christ.
Mrs. Kelley enjoyed taking care of her children, grandchildren and other family members. When not cooking, cleaning and sewing, she enjoyed reading and read up until a year before her death.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank M. Kelley in 1995 and by 2 sons, Joseph H. Kelley and Billy M. Kelley. She is survived by 2 daughters, Julia Faye Wolfe of Mountain View, AR and Rita Keeling (Carl) of Greenville; son, Frank M. Kelley, Jr. (Wanda) of Greenville; 6 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Danny Holman will officiate the services. Memorials may be made to the Sunnybrook Children’s Home, 222 Sunnybrook Road, Ridgeland, MS 39157 or the South Main Church of Christ for Sunnybrook.
