Graveside services for Alexander Joseph Tubertini, 85, of Greenville will be at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. He died, Sunday, November 24, 2013 at University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
He was born May 3, 1928 in Shelby, MS to Willie and Lucy Landi Tubertini. He graduated from Shelby High School in 1946. He was very involved in sports during high school and served his senior class as Vice President. Upon graduation, he moved to Greenville, MS. He was drafted into the Army in September of 1950. He proudly served his country in the Korean War and was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant in June of 1952. He returned to Greenville and began his career at Greenville Lumber Company where he worked for over 50 years. He was a member of the Home Builders Association.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Evelyn Oswalt Tubertini, a brother, Jimmy Tubertini and a sister, Stella Tubertini Fioranelli.
He is survived by a daughter, Peggy Tubertini, of Oxford, MS; two sons, David Tubertini, of Dallas, TX and Greg (Trudy) Tubertini, of Leland, MS; one brother, Willie Tubertini of Greenville; and four grandchildren; Landi, Lindsey and Laci Tubertini, all of Leland and Nicholas Tubertini, of Dallas, TX.
