Allen Carranza Lee, 78, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021. A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, April 9, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Stoneville-Leland Cemetery in Stoneville, MS under the direction of Boone Funeral Home in Leland, MS.
Born in Pine Bluff, AR on August 10, 1942 to Ray and Louise (Rose) Lee, Allen proudly joined the military in 1960 serving the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. During his service he received three commendation medals and rose to the ranks of Petty Officer First Class. After an honorable discharge from the Navy in 1970, Allen enjoyed various careers including an area salesman for MAC Tools, a poultry farmer for Tyson Foods and a small business owner of a foreign car automotive shop and HVAC services. Allen was truly a jack of all trades. He retired from Kilgore Independent School System in Texas as a maintenance technician and in retirement enjoyed adventures with his children.
Allen is survived by three children, Ellen-Elizabeth Lee (Theresa Bosanek) of Houston, TX, Franklin Lee (Sarah Hulliger) of New Orleans, LA, Owen Lee (Kimberly Collvins) of Houston, TX and step-son, Mark McGuffee (Kathy) of Watersound, FL; 5 grandchildren, Natalie Potter, Jenna Lee, Caroline Bosanek, Benjamin Bosanek and William Bosanek; and sisters, Sheila Lee of Florence, MS, Beulah Nelson of Pearl, MS and Rebecca Sutton of Brandon, MS.
Allen was especially grateful to his sister Sheila for a lifetime of care and support. The family would also like to acknowledge Gretchen Osborn who was the dearest friend to Allen and the family for many years.
