Alton Eugene “Gene” Brown, 79, of Greenville passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2019. There will be a visitation from 12:00 pm-1:00 pm, Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. There will be no graveside services.
Gene was born January 11, 1940 in Sunflower County to Pole Brown and Birdie Lou Brown.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Jean Brown of 53 years, his beloved firstborn son, Barron Lamar Brown, his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his daughter Carron (Wesley) Womble of Greenville; his son, Aaron (Natalie) Brown of Hattiesburg; eight grandchildren, Kaleb (Dana) Brown, Mikkel Brown, Malaina Womble, Bayli Brown, Austin Brown, Colby Brrown, Grayden Brown, Jackson Brown and expecting his first great granddaughter, Audrey Carol Brown in March 2020; three brothers, Otis Brown of Granite City, IL, Johnny Brown of Beckville, TX and Dennis (Martha Jo) Brown of Greenville; two sisters, Margaret Ann (Pete) Tinnon of Carthage, TX and Sheila (Elmer) Carson of Leland, MS; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
