Funeral services for Arrie Virginia Purser, 85, of Greenville will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2024 at Harmony Free Will Baptist Church in Eupora, MS. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. She died on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Mississippi Care Center. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
She was born in Humphreys County, MS to Spinks Rufus Purser and Mildred Marie Johnson Purser. She later moved to Washington County and graduated from Riverside High School in 1957. She was a member of Harmony Free Will Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Edward Johnston, Jr.; brothers, James, Paul, Rufus, Daniel and Joseph Purser and sisters, Ann Haston and Faye Keister.
She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Decker (David) of Leland and Sandra Tharp (Blan) of Greenville; grandchildren, April Humphrey (Daniel), Ashley Keith (Brandon), Angela Lowther, Leslie Oswalt (Jason), Leah Spencer (Chris), William Tharp (Kristin) and Wesley Tharp; and 15 great grandchildren.
