Benjamin Lee Giesbrecht, our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, was born to Gerhard (George) W. Giesbrecht and Lena (Voth) Giesbrecht in Montezuma, KS on January 29, 1929. He departed this life in a tragic accident on September 14, 2016 reaching the age of 87 years.
He received his education at Montezuma Public School. He was married to Pauline Mae Litwiller of Middleton, MI on Oct. 9, 1949. They enjoyed wedded life for over 66 years.
They spent four years in Cimarron, KS and then lived for 13 years in Mexico, where they were actively involved in the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite mission. There he was ordained into the gospel ministry. After this, they moved to Leland, MS where he continued his occupation of farming until his death. He was a charter member and pastor of the Leland Mennonite Church.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline; three children; Cristina, (Loren); Gary, (Trudy); Anita Koehn all of Leland, MS and five grandchildren. An infant daughter preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. Sep. 18, 2016 at the Leland Mennonite Church. Funeral services will be held on Sep 19, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at the Leland Mennonite Church. Interment will be in the Leland Mennonite Cemetery.
