A Celebration of Life service for Bessie Louise Brown, 83, of Granite City, Illinois will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Boone Funeral Home, Leland. She passed away Monday December 6, 2021. Burial will be in the Indianola City Cemetery.
Louise was born on January 16, 1938 to Bill Bo Thomas Sr. and Mary V. (Holder) Thomas in Minter City, Mississippi.
She was united in marriage to Curtis William Brown on November 28, 1955 in Washington County Mississippi. Curtis Brown passed away on March 31st 2005 with over 49 years of cherished memories together. During this time they lived in Greenville, MS., Beckville, TX. And Granite City IL. Louise was dedicated to her family, an amazing cook, loved playing board games with family and friends and had an interest in making floral arrangements and home décor.
Louise is survived by daughter Debbie Bowien of Gardendale, AL, son Randy and daughter in law Tina Brown of Collinsville, IL, daughter Cindy Harris of Granite City, IL, sister Patricia King of Tennessee as well as grandchildren and their spouses, Tony Bowien, Lindsay and Michael Simpson, Ashley and Shawn Newman, Stacy Bowien, Derrick and Mallory Brown, Curt Miller and 14 great grandchildren.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband Curtis William Brown, parents Bill Bo Thomas and Mary V. (Holder) Thomas, 2 brothers Robert Thomas and Bill Bo Thomas Jr. and two sisters Betty Jean Setzer and Christine Aden.
There will be a visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
