Billie Jean Turnage

Funeral services for Billie Jean Turnage, 82, of Greenville will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 25 at Boone-Smith Funeral Home. She died Saturday, October 22 at Washington Care Center. Burial will be in Lakeview Gardens under the direction of Boone Funeral Home. 

She was born on December 24, 1933 in Kilbourne, LA to Tom Solomon Toney and Myrtle Marie Breakfield Toney. Mrs. Turnage enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and watching game shows. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Thomas, Paul, Carl and Wesley Toney; sister, Pauline Grey and a grandson, Jonathon Smith. 

Mrs. Turnage is survived by her husband of 65 years, James Daniel Turnage; 3 sons, Daniel L. Turnage (Vicky) of Leland, James Norman Turnage (Melanie) of Commerce, GA and Jerry D. Turnage of Lebannon, TN; brother, Cornelius “Sonny” Toney of Tallulah, LA; 2 sisters, Lorraine Cherry of Greenville, MS and Peggy Cupit of Tallulah, LA; 7 grandchildren, Trae Smith, Wes Turnage, Joshua Smith (Jamie), Nick Turnage, Kellie Turnage, Sidney Turnage (Taylor) and Merritt Turnage; 3 great grandchildren, Alexis Turnage, Jae-Jae Smith and Perri Smith; and one great great granddaughter, Emmalynn Turnage. 

There will be a visitation one hour prior to services at Boone-Smith Funeral Home.
