Funeral services for Billy Grant Diamond, 81, of Hollandale will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 6, 2013 at Hollandale Baptist Church. He died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Allegiance Specialty Hospital, Greenville. Burial will be in Hollandale City Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
Mr. Diamond was born in Booneville, MS moving to Delta City as an infant where he attended Catchings Public Schools and later attended Chamberlain-Hunt Military Academy. He and his Mother ran the VFW Cafe in Hollandale for many years. He married Jennie Lawrence making their home in Hollandale where he was engaged in farming retiring as Farm Manager of Sandifer Farms. He was a member of Hollandale Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jennie L. Diamond of Hollandale, 4 daughters, Kathleen Garrett (James) of Carrollton, Linda Middleton of Natchez, Billie Jean Tyler (Danny) of Leland and Cindy Christian (Howard) of Hollandale, a brother, Kenneth Diamond; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
