Funeral services for Bobby Lee Shields, 82, of Glen Allan will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 12 at Boone-Smith Funeral Home, 1580 S. Colorado, Greenville. He died Saturday, July 8 at his home. Burial will be in County Line Cemetery, Glen Allan under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
He was born in Belzoni, MS and graduated from Cary High School in Cary, MS. In 1956 he married Betty Irwin and they made their home in Greenville where he was employed with the Greenville Public Schools as a printer. After his retirement they moved to Lake Washington. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Shields of Lake Washington; daughter, Sheila Findley Yeatmon (Scottie) of Jackson; 2 sons Michael Shields (Mary) of Demopolis, AL and Craig A. Shields, Sr. (Chery Hodges) of Lake Washington; brother, Alvin Shields of Paducah, KY; 6 grandsons, Dr. Larry Dale Wilson, Craig A. Shields, Jr., Bobby James Shields, Michael L. Shields, Jr., Ryan Scott Findley and William Tyler Findley; granddaughter, Allison Marie Shields; great grandson, Landon Casey Shields and great granddaughter, Sydney Harper Shields.
There will be a visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 11 at Boone-Smith Funeral Home.
