Bobbye Johnston McArthur

Funeral services for Bobbye Johnston McArthur, 93, of Lake Village, Arkansas, will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. There will be a visitation from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in County Line Cemetery, Glen Allan, MS. She passed away on September 22, 2025. She loved the Lord and lived her life with a steadfast faith in God that guided her every step.

She was born on January 21, 1932, in Chatham, Mississippi, to Arthur and Sadie Glover, who preceded her in death. She grew up surrounded by her three sisters, Jane, Carol, and Linda. Bobbye attended Rolling Fork High School, where she not only excelled in her studies but was also active in sports, a passion that showed her determined and lively spirit.

Bobbye retired from the New Orleans Post Office in 1975 before moving back to Mississippi and planting her roots in Greenville.

She is survived by her children Joe Jones (Nancy), Becky Mull (Gary), and Michelle Britton (Bryan); grandchildren Chris and Toby Jones, Duane, Joseph, Joshua, and Nicole Zito, Brett and Madilyn Britton; along with many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was also a loving stepmother to Joe Johnston, Jr., the late Doris Chase, Debbie Bird, Kathy Russell, and Steve Johnston, children of her late husband J.C. Johnston; and to Bill, Robert, and Suzanne McArthur, children of her husband Tom McArthur. She leaves behind a large extended family of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her sisters Carol Eaton and Linda Roof, and was preceded in death by her sister Jane McLemore.

Though she will be deeply missed, we rejoice knowing she is in glory with her Savior.
