Funeral service for Brenda Faulkner Smith, 77, of Hernando, MS and formerly of Greenville will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at St. Joseph High School Chapel in Greenville. She passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023. Burial will be in the Greenville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Brenda was born on August 14, 1945, in Clarksdale, MS to William Cecil Manning and Mildred Oliver Manning. She attended beauty school. On November 25, 1966, she married Raymond Dean Faulkner. They moved to Belzoni, MS then to Greenville, MS where they raised their children. Brenda had a daycare in her home where she loved on so many children and the children’s children for over 25 plus years. Raymond passed away unexpectedly in October of 2000. In April of 2003, Brenda married Robert D. (Bob) Smith. Bob and Brenda just celebrated 20 years of marriage and resided in Hernando, MS. Brenda’s greatest joy was her family. She and Bob loved to watch her kids and grandkids play their sports and loved spending time playing and spoiling her two great grandkids. She always was their biggest fan. Brenda loved her family and they all loved her very much. She was the best Mama, Mamaw, and BamBam ever!
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Helen Murphy and Barbara Wallace, her late husband Raymond Dean Faulkner, and her son, William Douglas Faulkner. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Robert Dennis Smith; children, Rhonda Faulkner Coggin (Kevin), Kim Faulkner Craft (Scott) and six grandchildren, Kayley C. Rocha (Fonzi), Cade Coggin (Rebecca), Karagan Coggin, Will Craft (Mary Haley), Raymie Craft and Walker Craft; two great grandchildren, Ryley Rocha and Revin Rocha and her brother, Paul Manning fo Hattiesburg, MS.
There will be a visitation from noon until service time on Wednesday at the school chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Brenda and her son, Doug.
