Funeral services for Brook Keith Mitchell, 79, of Greenville will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 29 at First Baptist Church Chapel. He died Tuesday at Delta Regional Medical Center. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mr. Mitchell was born in Pantherburn, MS moving to Clarksdale at an early age where he graduated from high school. He then attended and graduated from Delta State University in 1967. Between high school and college he served in the U.S. Navy. In 1966 he married Jo Carolyn Martin. Mr. Mitchell was engaged in farming for over 45 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Greenville.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Carolyn Mitchell; 2 sons, Keith Mitchell of The Colony, TX and Kevin Mitchell of Greenville; daughter, Brandy Mitchell of Flowood; 3 brothers, James Mitchell of Pontotoc, Billy Mitchell of Searcy, AR and Douglas Mitchell of Grenada; 3 sisters, Josiann Marshall of Hot Springs, AR, Frances Byrd of Clarksdale and Mickey Gallaspy of Hermatage, TN; 4 grandchildren, Maddie Mitchell, Kassidy Floyd, Karlie Floyd and Manning Floyd; and one great ganddaughter, Ellie Goldy and a host of other family members.
He was a kind and giving person who lived for his family and will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
There will be a visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, April 28 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
