Carl Rix Moore, age 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday June 9, 2022, at his home in Stoneville, MS.
A visitation will be held Sunday, June 12, 2022 from 2-3pm at Leland United Methodist Church, where they are long standing members. A celebration of life will immediately follow visitation. Burial will be at the Stoneville/Leland Cemetery. Reverend Tony Proctor and Reverend Jon Doler will officiate the services.
Carl was born November 20, 1934 in Madisonville, TX and grew up in Bristol, TX. He graduated from high school and enlisted in the US Army. In 1979, Carl, his wife Trula, and their three children relocated to the Mississippi Delta where he was employed and eventually retired from Mebane Packaging in Greenville, MS. In 1999, Carl, Trula, and his youngest son Ryan, opened Cicero’s restaurant in Stoneville, MS.
Carl was a gentle, kind, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. For almost twenty years, he was the first smiling face seen as you entered the doors of Cicero’s. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Carl and Mabel Moore, three sisters, Ethel Doris Wallace, Joyce Goff, and Lula McWhorter.
Carl is survived by his loving wife, Trula of Stoneville, MS, children Rhonda Moore Stallings (Butch) of Boyle, Chip Moore (Tina) of Indianola, and Ryan Moore (Susan) of Stoneville, MS. Six grandsons, Bo Stallings (Sarah Jane), Ben Stallings (Heidi), Zach Stallings, Eli Stallings, Connor Moore, and Davis Moore, one granddaughter, Carly Moore, three great-granddaughters and one great-grandson. He is also survived by his precious sister, Jean Todd, of Willis, TX along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers include Bo, Ben, Zach, and Eli Stallings, Connor Moore, Tommy McMurry, Jerry Thomas, and William Smith.
