Memorial services for Carol Marie Mallette Morris, 102, of Tupelo and formerly of Avon will be at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at the Greenville Cemetery. She died on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Traceway Retirement Community in Tupelo. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
She was born in Lamont, MS the daughter of Marvin and Kathleen Bay Mallette. Mrs. Morris worked at Western Line Schools as a bookkeeper retiring in 1995. Before working there she worked at Rhode Real Estate Company. She was a member of Avon Methodist Church and Hernando Methodist Church. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gama, a Mississippi Federated Woman’s Club. She was an avid bridge player.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Lee Morris, Jr.; sisters, Dorothy Dreher, Margaret Anderson and Lavelle Burnett and brothers, Marvin and Frank Mallette.
She is survived by two daughters, Janie Ries (late Fred) of Hernando and Peggy Waldrup of Lake Enid, MS; two sons, Lee Morris (Debbie) of Saltillo, MS and Ed Morris (Elke) of Cabot, AR; eleven grandchildren, Kathy Shows (Scott) of Dunwood, GA, Joey Ries (Heather) of Hernando, MS, Marie Scudder (Gary) of Hernando, MS, Keri Mills (Justin) of Columbus, MS, Trey Waldrup of Drew, MS, Colleen Waldrup of Drew, MS, Roy Waldrup of Cleveland, MS, Charter Morris (Elza) of Tuscaloosa, AL, Evan Morris (Stephanie) of Atlanta, GA, Andrew Morris of Cabot, AR and Lauren Morris of Cabot, AR and 13 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Avon United Methodist Church or to a charity of your choice.
