Carol Reed Mosley

Memorial services for Carol Reed Mosley, 80, of Leland will be at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, October 5 at First Baptist Church, Leland. She passed away on Sunday October 1, 2017 surrounded by her loved ones at home. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland. 

She was born January 11, 1937 in Phoebie, MS to Henry Aron and Ina Reed. She lived in Leland, MS most of her life where she went to Leland High School. In 1954 she met and married the love of her life, James E. Mosley, Jr. They were married for 30 years until Jimmy’s passing. 

Carol had a love for flowers and painting. She was an avid reader. She also loved cats and spending time with her family at gatherings at her youngest daughter, Sam’s house. 

Preceded by death are her parents, Aron and Ina Reed, her husband Jimmy Mosley, daughter Lynn Scott, her brothers Robbie and Henry Reed and sister Kay Burns. 

Survivors are her children: Daughters: Vivian Couey (Gary) of Wayside, MS; Cindy Yelverton (Rick) of Ridgeland, MS; Sam Goodrich (Emmitt) of Leland, MS; and her son Jamie Mosley (Deanna) of Greenville, MS and sister, Jerry Dean Potter of Wayside, MS. She had 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. 

The Family would like to thank Denona with Grace Hospice and her sitters Dorothy and Paula. Their kindness and care helped our Mom and us through this difficult time. 

There will be a visitation from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society or The Animal Rescue Fund of Jackson
