Carolyn Levy Stein

Graveside services for Carolyn Maxine Levy Stein, 95, of Ridgeland and formerly of Greenville will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 21 at the Greenville Jewish Cemetery in Greenville. She died Saturday, June 18 at The Blake in Ridgeland. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. 

She was born on February 27, 1921 in Lima, OH and she attended Connecticut College and University of Illinois. She married Bernard Stein in June 1948. 

Carolyn was an accomplished musician and artist. She loved animals, especially her special cats and dogs. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years. She will be missed by her family: Sally and Phil Cohen of Lexington, MS, Bob Stein and Carol Emerson of Greenville, MS, Nancy Stein of Nashville, TN, Judy Stein of Jackson, MS, and Emily and Charlie Boyle of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Stephanie Cohen of Charlotte, NC, Samuel Cohen of New Orleans, LA, Sarah Maxine Cohen of Tel Aviv, Israel, and Sara Boyle and Charlie Boyle of Houston, TX; great grandchildren, Asher Cohen and Emery Cohen of Charlotte, NC and beloved cat, King Williams. 

There will be a visitation at 9:45 a.m., on Tuesday, June 21 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. Memorials may be made to Hebrew Union Congregation, Greenville, MS; Beth Israel Congregation, Jackson, MS; Institute of Southern Jewish Life, Jackson, MS or to the charity of one’s choice.
