Graveside services for Carolyn Townsend Walters, 78 of Greenville, AL and formerly of Sunflower, MS will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 29 at Indianola City Cemetery. She got her angel wings on Jesus’ birthday, Friday, December 25 at her home in Greenville, AL.
Mrs. Walters was born on October 31, 1937 to Gertrude and Glover Townsend in Sunflower, MS. She was a retired registered nurse and medical missionary. An avid horse lover, she owned and ran a racking horse stable in Greenville, AL. She will be terribly missed by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C. D. Walters and sister, Marie Ferris. She is survived by 3 daughters, Traci Haven of Indianola, MS, Bonnie Hester (Jerre’) of Sumrall, MS and Donna McDaniel (Keith) of Hattiesburg, MS; son, Dana Watson (Jennifer) of Greenville, AL; 2 sisters, Bonnie Collins and Barbara Watson (Cliff) both of Indianola, MS; brother, Gordon Townsend (Nancy) of Casa Grande, AZ; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
There will be a visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 29 at Boone-Card Funeral Home, Indianola.
