Funeral services for Catherine McClain Kilgore, affectionately known as “Miss Cat” of Indianola, were at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 14, 2019 at Boone Funeral Home, Indianola. Visitation was held Sunday, October 13, 2019. Burial was in Indianola City Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Indianola. Services were officiated by Pastor Pete Roncali.
Mrs. Kilgore was born July 20, 1929 and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 11, 2019. She celebrated her 90th birthday with friends and family this past July.
She was a longtime, dedicated and faithful employee of Sunflower Food Store in Indianola.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Carl S. Kilgore, Sr., her parents Dave and Eula McClain, her sisters, Pauline Canady and Juanita Coutlis, and her brother Dave H. “Howard” McClain, Jr.
She is survived by two brothers, Douglas Arthur McClain (Beverly) of Paris, TX and James Edward McClain (Dottie) of Kermit, TX; three sons, Ronald “Ronnie” Kilgore and wife Delia of Kilgore, TX; Carl S. Kilgore, Jr. “Butch” of Avon, MS; Terry Kilgore and wife Charlotte of Raymond, MS. She has 16 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
