Funeral services for Charles Roy Lemons, 78, of Greenville will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. He passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS.
He was born August 6, 1942 in Shelby County, TN to the late Lester and Thelma (Hooker) Lemons. From 1956-1959 he was stationed on the USS FORRESTAL with the United States Navy. He then implemented his Naval training of underwater welding working for many years at Chicago Bridge and Iron as well as Pines/Fruehauf Trailers. He previously was a member of Longcrest Baptist Church of Memphis,TN and First Baptist Church of Horn Lake, MS. He is currently a member of Temple Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Thelma (Hooker) Lemons; two sons, Ricky and Randy Lemons; and grandson Cory Lemons.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores (Butchie) Lemons of Greenville, MS; daughter, Vickie Cole and spouse Amber of Alma, AR; sister, Betty Serratt of Ohio; two step sons, Slade (Nichole) Teasley and Chad (Jodi) Teasley of Texas; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
There will be a visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville on Wednesday.
