It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Clayton Geist Seymour, who left us on March 13, 2026. Born on August 30, 1936 in Oklahoma City, OK and raised in Houston, TX, he was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, known for his unwavering kindness, compassion, and dedication to serving others.
In February 1968, Clayton moved to Greenville, Mississippi, where he began a successful career as an Allstate Insurance Agent, a role he cherished for 45 years. His commitment to his clients and the community exemplified his belief in helping others and making a positive impact in their lives.
A man of deep faith, Clayton served as an Elder, Deacon, and Treasurer at South Main Church of Christ. His devotion to his church and community was evident through his active involvement in the Greenville Optimist Club, where he held multiple leadership positions, including president, vice president, lieutenant governor, and fundraising chairman.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Norma Sue Seymour, his brothers Richard Seymour and David Seymour, and his parents Dr. Ira C. Seymour and Edith A. Seymour. He is survived by his children, Cathy Sanders, Clayton Seymour, Jr. (Melody), and Sherri Scott; his grandchildren, Randy Sanders (Denia), Raymond Sanders (Kevin), Jennifer Dunn (Tony), Clayton “Trey” Seymour III, Kyle Scott (Jenni), and Ashli Noble (James); and his cherished great-grandchildren.
Clayton will be remembered for his generous spirit, love for his family, and unwavering faith. He touched the lives of countless individuals and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the South Main Church of Christ located at 1700 South Main St. Greenville, MS with the funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be the Greenville Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
