Funeral services for David Alexander Kitchens, 78, of Greenville will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. There will be a visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the service time. David passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
He was born July 1, 1948, to David and Rosie Goss Kitchens. David worked for over 30 years for Aguzzi Games, and also farmed for most of his life.
David enjoyed hunting, and also throughout his life he looked forward to going to stock car races with his sons. He also never missed an opportunity to watch wrestling or sporting events with his grandchildren. Those moments together will be memories his family will never forget.
Above all else, David loved his family. His greatest joy was the life he built with his beloved wife, Teresa, with whom he shared 30 years of marriage. Together they created a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to their children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Pierce; his grandson, Jonathon Kitchens; his daughter-in-law, Terri Kitchens; and his sister, Margaret Goss.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Kitchens; his children, David Lee Kitchens, Alex Kitchens (Ramona), Rodney Pierce (Tasha), and April Terry (BJ); grandchildren, Michael Kitchens (Chasity), Tori Kitchens, Kaitlin McLendon (JonReed), John Terry (Mary Presley), Maddilyn Marcengil (Parker), Gage Saulter, Wyatt Terry, Joseph Terry, Gracie Rainwater, Aiden Pierce, Clayton Hill, Katie Pierce, Amanda Wiltshire, Zach Mansfield, and Jack Gentry; and numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Bonnie Taylor, Chester Kitchens (Sharon), and Shirley Salley, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members
