Memorial services for David Lynn Hendrix, 68, of Rolling Fork, will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Delta City Baptist Church in Delta City, MS. There will be a visitation from 1:30 p.m. until service time. David passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025.
David was born in Tennessee on May 28, 1956, to Kenneth Karl Hendrix and Peggy Newsom Hendrix. When he and his brother, Kenny, were young, their father passed away. Soon after his father passed away, their mother and they moved to the Rolling Fork area. Their mother met and married Tom Gore, who they were so fortunate to have in their lives and raised them as his own. David graduated from Sharkey Issaquena Academy and then went to Mississippi Delta Community College, where he received an associate’s degree.
For over 5 years, David was the Electoral Commissioner for Issaquena County District 5. He was also a farmer in the Grace Community for most of his life.
He was preceded in death by his biological father, Kenneth Karl Hendrix, and the father who raised him, Tom Gore, and his mother, Peggy Gore.
He is survived by a brother, Kenneth K. Hendrix, Jr., and wife, Susan; sisters, Melissa Koenig and husband, Ken, Becky Frye, and Joyce Guy; and two sons, David Hendrix and Tyler Thomas Hendrix.
