Davie Rusk

Funeral services for Davie Rusk, 74, of Greenville will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the Lighthouse Mission Church. There will be a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time. She passed away peacefully in her home with family by her side on Friday, September 19, 2025. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

She was born in Greenville, MS to Donald and Willie Bell McCully on November 21, 1950. She graduated high school from Greenville High School, and received her degree in nursing from Mississippi Delta Community College. She was a dedicated surgical nurse for over 30 years. She briefly moved to Georgia for a moment in time until she was ready to come back to Greenville to be close to her grandchildren.

Davie loved the Lord and her family with all her heart. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, loved her MSU bulldogs and became a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys after they acquired Dak Prescott. Not a day went by that you would not catch her watching Gunsmoke. There was nothing she loved more then attending her Grandchildren’s events and was one of their biggest fans. She loved them very much.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Elam Rusk Jr. and her parents Donald McCully and Willie Bell Germany McCully.

She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Sims (Ronnie), son Zeek McNemar (Sara), grandchildren Zachary Sims (Allie),Caley Sims, Lucas Sims, Nathaniel Sheller and Brittany Hernandez (Chucky). Also, two great grandchildren Grant and Grayson Hernandez. She will be missed by so many of her cousins and a lot of lifelong friends.
