Funeral services for Davis “Dave” Malvin Tatum will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Boone Funeral Home, Indianola. He went to be with our heavenly Father on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at South Sunflower County Hospital. Burial will be in the Indianola City Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Indianola.
He was born on August 30, 1930 to Ruth and Doodie Tatum and was one of eight children. Dave grew up in the Delta. He served in the U. S. Army from 1952 to 1953, during the Korean War. After he returned from service he worked as a machinist at Ludlow until they closed, at which point he went to work for the City of Indianola until retirement.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, 7 siblings, and his wife, Mattie Ruth. He is survived by three sons, Carl Wiley, Melvin McClain, and William McClain; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
There will be a visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the services.
