Dempsey Tice

Funeral services for Dempsey Tice, 65, of Greenville will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. He passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Baptist Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.

Dempsey was born in LaPinto, Arkansas on March 13, 1955 to D.D. and Bernice Tice. The Tice’s moved to Greenville, MS in 1964 where Dempsey attended both Hollandale and Riverside schools.

Dempsey was married to Karen Stockton Tice for 28 years in which they were blessed to have three children, Chris, Chad and Cassie. During his lifetime Dempsey worked as a mechanic at Ipsco as well as APAC for several years and ending his work career working for Holsum Bread.

He enjoyed fishing, watching football, ladies basketball, and ladies fast pitch softball.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Darling Dempsey Tice and Hattie Bernice Tice and his sister, Janice Allen.

He is survived by two sons, Chris Tice of Bentonville, AR and Chad Tice (Jessica) of Leland; a daughter, Cassie Pugh (Trip) of Leland; sister, Wendy Witherspoon (Jeff) of Hollandale; brothers, Daniel Tice, Sr. (Lori) of College Station, TX and Glen Tice (Kelly) of Ovett, MS; brother-in-law, Edward Allen of Belzoni, MS and eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.

There will be a visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with services to follow at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Daniel Tice, Jr., Luke Tice, Colton Witherspoon, Ross Wicker, Jeremiah Toten and Aaron Brown.
