Funeral services for Dezzie Lee Donham Johnston, 90, of Greenville will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville with visitation at noon until service time. She passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at home. Burial will be in County Line Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnston was born on November 26, 1933, in Aberdeen, MS to Alfred and Maynie Donham. In August 1962 she married D.H. “Pete” Johnston. The family lived in Greenville, MS for the next 50 years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her husband, D.H. “Pete” Johnston, sons, Michael Johnston, Howell Johnston, Charlie Lester, and Danny Lester; daughters, Evelyn Bell and Lynn Rager; parents, Alfred and Maynie Donham; four sisters, Margaret Lott, Lucille Charron, Bessie Hollins, and Catherin Graves; brothers, Nelson Donham and David Donham; grandson, Paul Bell and great-grandson Remington Johnston.
She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Sullivan (Chris) of Greenville and Marion Butler (Mike) of Columbus, MS; 24 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
