Funeral services for Donald R. Hancock, 79, of Black Hawk were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 12 at Boone-Smith Funeral Home, Greenville. He died Friday, March 10 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital. Burial was in Greenville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Don was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle. He was a captain on the tow boat for over 40 years while working for Vickers Towing and he also served in the U. S. Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Hancok, his parents, Herman and Alene Hancock and a sister, Joyce Jones of Memphis.
He is survived by 2 sons, Donald R. Hancock, Jr. (Misty) of Steele, MO and Harold Permenter (Dennie) of Liberty, MO; daughter, Angela Dill (Charles) of Decatur, AL; 2 sisters, Jane Perino (Sandy) of Austin, TX and Gladys Stratton (Glen) of Riley, TN; and 2 brothers, Johnny Hancock of Black Hawk, MS and Roy Hancock (Marsha) of Hernando, MS and many granddchildren nieces and nephews.
There was a visitation one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
