A requiem Mass will be celebrated for Doris Tuminello Mansour, 89, of Greenville at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 30, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was born to eternal life on Sunday, May 26, 2013. Burial will be in Greenville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mrs. Mansour was born in Clarksdale, MS on August 28, 1923 to Rosalie and Anthony Tuminello, Sr. She was the loving wife of 62 years to George Mansour, Sr. Prior to her marriage she was Deputy City Clerk and Tax Collector in Clarksdale. Before that, she was a personal secretary at Wright Field Air Service Command in Dayton, Ohio. She was an active member of numerous church, school and social organizations.
She was the devoted mother to seven children; John Anthony Mansour (Carol) of Greenville, George Mansour, Jr., (Susan) of Greenville, Marshall Mansour of Houston, TX, Marilyn Mansour Mansour (Ricky) of Birmingham, AL, Dr. Michael Mansour (Dr. Kathleen) of Greenville, Steven Mansour (Caroline) of Alexandria, LA, and Pal Mansour Bostany (Danny) of Birmingham, AL. She also leaves sixteen grandchildren and one great grandson. She personified love, kindness, and generosity.
In addition, she leaves two sisters, Mayrene Messer of Brandon, Pal Shapley of Madison and one brother, Anthony Tuminello, Jr. (Lola) of Monroe, LA.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2013 followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Bill Henry will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, St. Joseph School, or St. Joseph Church.
