Funeral service for Dorothy Ann Gentry Hogue, 89, of Greenville will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Emmanuel Baptist Church. She passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Mississippi Care Center. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
She was born in Aberdeen, MS to Hobson and Nadine Nash Gentry. At an early age, they moved to Greenville where she attended St. Rose of Lima school. Dorothy married R. L. Hogue and he preceded her in death in 2002. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Bobby Gentry, and a grandson, Jonathan Jones.
She is survived by a daughter, Jean H. Jones of Leland; three sons, Jerry Hogue of Vicksburg, Mike Hogue (Tonya) of Pontotoc, and Raymond Hogue of Greenville; sister, Martha Bean of Glen Carbon, IL; 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 3 great great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mississippi Care Center nurses and CNA’s.
There will be a visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the church.
