Funeral Mass for Dorothy “Dot” Richard Baronet, 94, of Leland was held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at St. James Catholic Church, Leland, MS. She died Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at her home. Entombment was at Leland-Stoneville Cemetery, Stoneville, MS under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
Mrs. Baronet was born in Church Point, LA, the only daughter of Jules and Delia Richard. In April 1941 she was married to Percy Charles Baronet. They moved to Shaw, MS in 1950 to farm rice. While her husband worked on the farm, Dot became the consummate homemaker, cooking, cleaning, and sewing to make a home for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her brother, Ferdie Richard. She is survived by her daughters, Pat Reed (Rodney) and Ann Freeman (Jim); five grandchildren, Beth Freeman Reynolds (Mike), Scott Reed (Kim), David Freeman (Beth), Spencer Reed (Jennifer), and Hamp Reed (Krystal), nine great grandchildren, and two nephews, Jim Richard of PIneville, LA and Bill Richard of Metarie, LA.
She was a loving Mama, MaMa, and Great-grandmother, and she will be missed.
