Dorsey L. Lott

Funeral Mass for Dorsey L. Lott, 92, of Indianola, will be at 11:00 a.m, Saturday, March 5 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Indianola. He died Wednesday, March 2 at Delta Regional Medical Center. Burial will be in Indianola City Cemetery.

Mr. Lott was born in Indianola in 1923 to Jewell and W. E. Lott. After graduating from Indianola High School in 1942, Dorsey joined the Merchant Marines where he served on the S.S. Horace V. White. After returning home, he and his brother Paul opened Lott Furniture Company. He was a founding member of the Indianola Volunteer Fire Department, former President of the Indianola Jaycee’s, one of the first members of Governor Cliff Finch’s Mississippi Commission of Natural Resources, was board member of the Bank of The Delta, a member of The Knights of Columbus and a communicant of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Paul. He is survived by his wife Marie Fratesi Lott, son, Stanley Lott, granddaughters, Emily Conner (Chris) of Allen, TX, Andrea Lott of Dallas, TX, Melanie Lott of Dallas, TX and great grandsons, Sam and Ben Conner of Allen, TX. 

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
