Graveside services for Dr. Margaret Virginia Morgan Maugh, 86, of Richton will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 22 at Leland-Stoneville Cemetery, Stoneville, MS. She peacefully passed away on March 17.
Dr. Maugh is a graduate of Leland High School and Delta State University, holds a Master’s of Education from Mississippi College, and a Doctorate of Education from the University of Southern Mississippi. Dr. Maugh served as a teacher in the Greenville, Pearl, and Clinton school systems and as a principal at Clinton Park and Eastside schools. She was a member of the Richton United Methodist Church, the Order of the Easter Star, the Norville Robertson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the New Augusta Garden Club, and the Richton Red Hatters.
Dr. Maugh is preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Maugh, Sr., her parents Ray and Margaret Collum Morgan, her infant daughter Margaret Cecilia Maugh, and her brothers Ray and John Maugh. She is survived by her two sons, Reverend Larry Maugh and his wife Celeste and Franklin Maugh, her sister Patricia M. Prewitt, eight grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Dr. Maugh to a favorite charity.
