Mrs. Roman was born in Lexington, Mississippi, on April 15, 1926. She was preceded in death by her mother Frankie Meriwether Edwards, father Earl Johnson, and brothers Eddie Johnson, and Hymon S. Johnson. She leaves behind her husband of 64 years, Walter Rotchild Roman. They had 3 children, Sara Ann Harris (Jack) of Inverness; Ted Walter Roman (Debi) of Starkville, and William “Bill” Johnson Roman of Flowood; 4 grandchildren, Emily Harris Soen (Philip) of Clinton, Jane Anna Harris Waide (Whit) of Starkville, John Montgomery Harris of Yazoo City, and Lauren Elizabeth Roman of Augusta, Georgia; 2 great grandchildren, Anastasia Elizabeth Soen, and Samantha Montgomery Soen.

Mrs. Roman was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Walter and Earline Roman were married in 1950 and spent their first years together in Starkville, and the remainder of their lives in Greenville. She was a faithful servant of the Lord at the First Presbyterian Church, where she was very much loved by her church community. She never met a stranger and had a great sense of humor. “Mamaw”, as she was affectionately known by her grandchildren, was a homemaker and lovingly doted on her family and grandchildren. In her later years, Mrs. Roman worked at Lina’s Fine Interiors and the First Presbyterian Church daycare. She was an active member in the Greenville Garden Club and the Junior Auxiliary.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to those who loved and cared for Earline at Indywood, Indywood Glen and the Greenwood-Leflore Hospital. Your kindness and attentiveness to her is deeply appreciated.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to French Camp Academy or the charity of your choice.
