Graveside services for Eddie Lee Jeter, 93, of Greenville will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 10 at Greenville Cemetery. He died Saturday, January 7 at his home. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mr. Jeter was born on February 4, 1923 in Tri Lake, MS. He later moved to Greenville. Mr. Jeter served 26 years in the U. S. Navy, 4 years active and 22 years in the Naval Reserve and was a veteran of World War II. He owned and operated several service stations in Greenville.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Greenville for 38 years.
Mr. Jeter was preceded in death by his parents, G. C. Jeter, Sr. and Doris Jeter of Vicksburg, his brother, G.C. Jeter, Jr., sister, June Kirkley and his first wife, Janie Jeter.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Jeter of Greenville, daughter, Wanda Weathers of Carrollton; 6 granddaughters, Leslie Wilkerson (Joey), Meredith Vance (Wayne), Olivia Pyron, Leigh Whitney Pyron, Angel Ainsworth (Mike) and Kaityln Woods; 4 great grandchildren; 3 stepdaughters, Shannon Campbell, Jennifer Hines and Tiffany Joke; stepson, Charlie Joke; 9 step grandchildren; 12 great step grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation from 9:00-10:00 a.m., Tuesday at Boone-Smith Funeral Home
