Funeral services for Edmund Moy Yung, 87, of Phoenix, AZ, and formerly of Beulah, MS will be at 10;30 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home in Greenville. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until service time. He passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, in Phoenix, AZ. He will be laid to rest at the Greenville Chinese Cemetery.
He was born on February 14, 1937, in Guangdong Province, China, and immigrated to the US at the age of 12 to settle in Beulah, Ms. Edmund dedicated his life to his family and the community, leaving a legacy of love and entrepreneurship.
Edmund was a pillar in his community. He took over the family grocery business in Beulah and expanded it to include a liquor store, laundromat, and another grocery store in nearby Benoit. His commitment to his work was paralleled only by his devotion to his family and friends, whom he always placed first in his life.
Edmund graduated from Benoit High School and carried his love for hunting and fishing throughout his life, finding peace and joy in these activities.
He was preceded in death by his father, Moy Shee Wing, and his mother, Lau Toy Line.
He is survived by his loving spouse, Sharon; sons, Kelvin (Sopo), Jason (Lorna), and John (Joanne); and grandchildren, Taylor (Soo), Sara, Naomi, Matthew, and Kathryne (Josh).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Edmund.
His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
