Funeral Mass for Edna Mansour Mangialardi, 88, of Nashville and formerly of Greenville will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 2 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. She passed away peacefully on October 30, 2016, at her home in Nashville, TN surrounded by her loving family. Burial will be in Greenville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
She was born April 18, 1928, in Lake Village, AR, to Wadeeh and Thyrza Farris Mansour. The family moved to Greenville shortly thereafter where she graduated from Saint Rosa of Lima High School. After graduation she planned to become a nun and briefly entered a Sisters of Mercy Convent. Her studies were interrupted by an illness, after which, she returned to Greenville. She worked for several years at the First National Bank as the executive assistant to the president. She remained close to the nuns, did volunteer work for them and served as president of the Mercy alumni association. While continuing to consider a vocation, she would often say that God had other plans for her. She met Gino Mangialardi from Shelby, MS, and they were married on November 11, 1964, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church. By 1970, they had completed their family by having 2 sons and a daughter. She had a very deep faith and love for her church which she instilled in her family. Edna truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures – playing cards with friends and family, cooking, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Edna had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. She will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents Wadeeh and Thyrza Mansour, brother Edward Mansour and sister-in-law Sadie, brother John Mansour and sister-in-law Mary Louise, brother Philip Mansour and sister-in-law Louise, brother George Mansour and sister-in-law Doris, brother Abe Mansour and sister-in-law Gloria, sister Elizabeth Shamoon and brother-in-law Jimel, and sister Magdalene Koury and brother-in-law Michael. She is survived by her husband, Gino Mangialardi of Nashville, TN, sons Dr. Robert (Wendy) Mangialardi of Nashville, TN, David (Michelle) Mangialardi of Madison, MS, daughter Gina Marie Mangialardi of Nashville, TN, five grandchildren: Katherine Mangialardi of Madison, MS, Elizabeth Mangialardi of Madison, MS; Henry Mangialardi of Nashville, TN, George Mangialardi of Nashville, TN, and John Mangialardi of Nashville, TN, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
