Funeral services for Edna Merie Donley Hammons, 91 of Greenville will be held on Thursday. She passed away at Delta Regional Medical Center on Monday, May 25, 2020. Burial will be in Linn Methodist Church Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mrs. Hammons was born in Lansing, MI where she graduated from high school. She later moved to Bolivar County, MS where she met and married Jesse Hammons in 1952. She was employed with Retzer and Retzer for many years retiring in 1991. Mrs. Hammons moved to Izard County, AR and then back to Greenville in 2016. She was a member of the Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints and was an avid gardener and seamstress.
She is survived by three daughters, Debra Wright (Bill) of Springdale, AR, Charlotte Crose (Mark) of Greenville and Carolyn Parr of Hattiesburg; son, William Hammons (Vista) of Greenville; brother, Howard Donley; two sisters, Elizabeth Corbin and Sarah Donley; 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
