Funeral services for Edna Ruth “Sissy” Scrivner, age 94, of Bella Vista, AR and native of Mississippi will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 15 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 10, with all the dignity and grace she had throughout her life. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
She was born at Saltillo, MS to her parents, Theron and Ethie Lessel on September 29, 1924. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church (known know as Cornerstone Baptist Church) in Greenville for approximately 68 years. She loved serving as Sunday School Teacher for the young children of the church for approximately 25 of those years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Alfred Lee Scrivner, and T. E. Chapman and by a stepson, Eddie Chapman.
She is survived by two sons, Ron L. Scrivner (Mickey) of Brandon, MS and Tami C. Scrivner of Bella Vista, AR; step-daughters, Linda West of Amory, MS and Brenda Snyder (Dwayne) of Bentonville, AR; sister, Jeanette Vowell (Pete) of Little Rock, AR; four grandchildren, Trace, Clint (Cathy), Matt (Dawn) and Lacey Vandevender (Bryan);nine great grandchildren; two sister-in-laws, Helen “Nell” Cox of Oxford, MS and Vonda Scrivner of Greenville, MS and a host of Chapman and Scrivner family members.
There will be a visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m., prior to services at the funeral home. Pastor Scott Griffin will officiate.
