Funeral services for Edward Blaine Johnston, Sr. 85, of Hollandale will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Boone Funeral Home, Leland. He passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2019. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Johnston was a native of Glen Allan where he attended school. He became involved in the Towboat Industry in 1949 and retired in 2000 as Captain.
He was preceded in death by his parents Chester and Myrtle Johnston, his wife, Lillie B. Johnston in 1990, 3 sisters and 1 brother.
He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Decker (David) of Leland and Sandra Tharp (Blan) of Wayside; son, Edward Johnston, Jr. of Isola; seven grandchildren, April Humphrey of Wayside, Ashley Keith of Wayside, Lesily Oswalt of Wayside, Leah Spencer of Wayside, Angela Lowther of Leland, William Tharp of Flowood and Wesley Tharp of Cleveland and sixteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
