Funeral services for Edward Lee Jones, Sr., 80, of Greenville, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Boone-Smith Funeral Home, Greenville. He died Sunday November 20, 2016 at his home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Edward was born to Lucille and Seibrant Jones of Greenville on June 21, 1936. He was a dedicated and loving husband to Charlotte for 56 years. Edward served in the US Air Force for four years, he worked as a office equipment repairman for 45 years retiring from The University of Texas in Richardson, Texas. Edward loved to fly in his younger days and also loved fishing and drawing. The light of his life were his grand children and great grandson. He truly loved them all. Edward had a boisterous laugh and personality that would light up the room and anyone that he came in contact with.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lucille and Seibrant Jones, two brothers Lawrence Jones and Leonard Jones.
He is survived by his wife Charlotte Fisher Jones, a son Edward (Toni) Lee Jones Jr and a daughter Angie (John Michael) Santucci; four grandchildren, Eric Jones, Tyler Jones, Leah Santucci and Ali Santucci; one great grandchild Hunter Jones and 2 brothers, Allen (Judy) Jones and Don (Carolyn) Jones.
The family would like to thank Grace Hospice for all the wonderful care that was given. Also a special thank you to Ashley Hughes, Ashton Campbell, Emily Wolfe, Rose Alexander and Laura Jackson for their loving care.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
