Funeral services for Eleanor Mae Barrentine, 86, of Greenville will be a noon on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Gamari Road Baptist Church. She died on Monday, January 8, 2024 at home.
Mrs. Eleanor was born and raised in the Mississippi Delta. She married John Walter Terry and they raised five sons here. Later in life she went back to school and received a degree in cosmetology. She worked hard all of her life at one job or another, all to make life better for her five sons. She was a member of Glendale Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Alice Barrentine; husband, John Walter Terry, Sr.; son, John Walter Terry, Jr.; sisters, Pearl Shingler, Tressie Webb, and Linda McGraw; brothers, Lester Barrentine and John Lewis Barrentine.
She is survived by four sons, Barry Terry (Mary) of Hollandale, MS, Frank Terry (Vicky) of Greenville, MS, Kenneth Terry of Kilmichael, MS and James Terry (Laurie) of Greenville, MS; four brothers, James Barrentine, Terry Barrentine, Ronnie Barrentine and Raymond Barrentine; two sisters, JoAnn Jackson and Martha Anderson; daughter-in-law, Rita Terry; sister-in-law, Diane Barrentine; 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Flowers can be delivered to Gamari Road Baptist Church, 570 Gamari Road, Greenville, MS after noon on Friday or Saturday morning.
