Elton G. Turnipseed, Jr., 90, of Carlsbad, California (formerly of Jackson, MS), passed away Friday, March 20, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
He was born to Mary Hobart Turnipseed and Elton Turnipseed on May 13, 1929 in Greenville Mississippi. He graduated from Chamberlain-Hunt Academy in 1947 and went on to earn a degree in Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech University. Elton was most proud of serving his country as a Lieutenant Aviator in the Navy from 1951-1956. He is remembered in love by his wife, Nancy Turnipseed, children from his first marriage: daughters Sarah Turnipseed and Lois Falvey, sons Clark Turnipseed and Eric Turnipseed, and step children from his second marriage, Brian Butler and Jennifer Schumacher, along with 10 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Elton is preceded in death by his mother, father, sister Lynell Hobart Turnipseed Davis, brother John Turnipseed and second wife, Charlene Turnipseed.
