Funeral services for Esther Lee Peel, 89, of Apex, NC and formerly of Leland, MS will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 17, 2013 at Boone-Card Funeral Home, Indianola, MS. She died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 in Wake, NC. Burial will be in Indianola City Cemetery, Indianola, MS under the direction of Boone-Card Funeral Home, Indianola.
Esther was born February 4, 1924 to John and Clyde Knight in Thomasville, AL. For the past 2 years, Esther resided at Cambridge Village Senior Living Facility in Apex, NC near her son.
Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Peel. She will be greatly missed by her son, Billy Hutchinson (Susan Thomas) of Fuquay Varina, NC and their children and grandchildren, Angie Holly (Jeff) and daughter Alyssa of Madison, MS, Suzanne Parker (Todd) and children Taylor and Andrew of Apex, NC; three sisters, Prunice Todd and Hilda Knight (Coleman) both of Thomasville, AL and Olene Hallman (Roy) of Grove Hill, AL and two brothers, S.M. Knight (Jewel) of Calhoun, TN and J.C. Knight of Thomasville, AL; and three stepsons, Joe Peel, Benny Peel, Marvin Peel and their families.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to funeral services at Boone-Card Funeral Home, Indianola. Dr. Jon Doler of First Baptist Church in Leland will officiate. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Leland, MS.
