Eva Fay Bullock Holloway

Graveside services for Eva Fay Bullock Holloway, 87, of Jackson, Tennessee and formerly of Greenville will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, December 2 at the Greenville Cemetery.  She passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family Thursday morning November 29, 2018.  Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville, MS.

She was born in Glenmora, Louisiana on March 08, 1931, the daughter of Hardy and Lola Bullock. She was youngest of eight siblings and the twin sister of Gay Melder. She was married to James C. Holloway, Sr. on December 21, 1953.

Fay was preceded in death by her husband James C. Holloway, Sr., her son Steven “Bo” Holloway, and granddaughter Johnna Cantrell Holloway, as well as her parents Hardy and Lola Bullock, one brother L. G.  Bullock, and four sisters Loreen Gormley, Melba Mayeaux, Myrtle Baker, and Verna Lee Mayeaux.
Fay is survived by her daughter Jayne Holloway Angelle (Blane Angelle), son James C. Holloway, Jr., (Dee Dee Holloway), granddaughters Lauren Hernandez (David Hernandez) and Morgan Strickland (Joe Danna and daughter, Alex Danna), twin sister Gay Melder and sister Wanda Nelson.

After meeting her husband in Natchitoches, Louisiana, they married and moved to Vicksburg, Mississippi, and lived there from 1953 to 1956.  In 1956 she moved to Greenville, Mississippi, where her and her family lived from 1956 to 2004 when she moved to Jackson, Tennessee, with her son, wife and granddaughter. 

Fay graduated from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana with a Bachelor of Education. She was an enthusiastic educator for 32 years for Greenville Public Schools in Mississippi at Bass and Solomon Junior High School in the area of Physical Education and Math. She was an avid bridge player with a Life Master’s to her credit.  She loved family and enjoyed flowers, gardening, canning, cooking, baking, traveling and fishing. She was a member of the Greenville Yacht Club as well as the Triad Club in Greenville in which she served as President. She was a devoted member of Parkview Baptist Church in Greenville, Mississippi, and Meridian Baptist Church in Jackson, Tennessee.
 
She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Sister that was dedicated to her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Pallbearers will be Sonny Melder, Tommy Melder, Spencer Melder, Lee McTeer, Wade Street, and Phillip Roger.

Visitation in Jackson, TN will be today, Friday, November 30 at the South Chapel of George Smith Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Visitation in Greenville will be Sunday December 2nd at Boone Funeral Home from 1:00-3:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, or a charity of your choice.
