Graveside services for Mrs. Frances Davis Burke, 91, of Jackson will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 25 in Indianola City Cemetery. She died Friday, April 18th, at Baptist Medical Center, Jackson, MS. Services are under the direction of Boone-Card Funeral Home, Indianola.
Mrs. Burke, a Tennessee native, moved to Indianola in 1929. She attended Sunflower Junior College and graduated from Belhaven College in 1945. She has been a resident of Jackson since 1960. Mrs. Burke worked for the Mississippi House of Representatives for over 30 years. During that time she served as secretary to the Appropriations Committee, as secretary to House Speaker, John R. Junkin, and as Journal Clerk. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Jackson.
Mrs. Burke was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Herbert L. Burke. She is survived by her son, Dr. William “Bill” Patrick Burke (Marilyn) of Madison, MS.
