Funeral Services for Frances Olene Britt Sabbatini, 87, of Leland, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Leland. There will be a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow at Leland-Stoneville Cemetery. She passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson surrounded by family. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
Mrs. Sabbatini was born in Brookhaven, MS, to Hardy Beck and Frances Griffin Britt. At an early age, she moved to Leland, where she graduated from Leland High School. In 1956, she married Eugene Sabbatini. For 33 years she opened her heart and her home as a daycare, caring for countless children. Many of whom still carry fond memories of her care. Known affectionately as ‘Nanny’ to far more than just her family, she found her greatest joy in the simple, precious moments spent with her family and friends.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Leland, where she loved her “Joy” Sunday School class and all of her church family.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995; two sisters, Betty Walker and Marie Morlino; and two brothers, Jack Scott and Hardy Mae Britt. She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Sabbatini of Leland and Krista S. Fratesi (Louis) of Leland; a son, Raymond L. Sabbatini (Cyndi) of Petal, MS; sister, Joyce Burt; Her greatest blessings, four grandchildren, Jason Sabbatini (Allison), Austin Fratesi (Megan), Brittany Brozovich (Eric) and Katie Fratesi; six great-grandchildren, Clara, Lillian, Henry, Malia, Eric Jr, and Baker; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her grand dog, Max.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church, Leland.
